Crafting a comprehensive political communications plan for the lifesaving Air Ambulance Service
Introduction
Whitehouse provides public affairs and reputation management support to the Air Ambulance Service (TAAS), a charity which operates the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) across Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Rutland, Derbyshire and Leicestershire, as well as to its sister charity, the UK-wide Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA).
Our strategy
Whitehouse’s integrated communications campaign focused on raising awareness of both charities amongst key parliamentary and industry stakeholders. We developed both charities’ brand messaging frameworks, briefing materials and Q&A media toolkits and implemented a tailored reputation management and crisis communications programme for both charities. We helped to draft and place articles and op-eds as part of our media engagement strategy, and horizon scan for speaker opportunities at relevant events, conferences, and panel discussions.
Whitehouse has identified and nurtured key strategic relationships with influential decisionmakers in Parliament, the NHS and the wider healthcare and charity sectors. We have raised the visibility of TAAS’s distinctive operational model, facilitating a framework for the charity to collaborate more closely with the UK’s urgent and emergency care sector. We have also increased awareness of TCAA in Parliament and in the media, with features and mentions from high-profile Members of Parliament and charity sector stakeholders.
