Engaging Exeter’s stakeholders to fund the city’s energy efficiency schemes
Background
Exeter City Futures is an independent community interest project working to help Exeter realise opportunities for better energy efficiency, lower the city’s carbon emissions, support energy independence, and support economic development in the region. The project brings together Exeter’s businesses, individuals, communities, and leaders together to provide the coordination and focus needed to deliver the city’s carbon ambitions.
Our strategy
Whitehouse worked with the organisation to promote awareness of its objectives among local, regional, and national stakeholders, to secure national funding and endorsement of the project and to organise a series of briefing opportunities to bring key decision-makers on board.
With Whitehouse’s support, Exeter City Future’s project went on to receive funding from the European Regional Development Fund and led to Exeter City Council formally committing to a carbon neutral city by 2030.
