Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 per annum depending on experience

The Opportunity
Whitehouse is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic associate consultant to join its fast-growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a talented team across a range of UK and EU accounts, supporting the implementation of the day-to-day public affairs projects. This is a wide-ranging and busy role, working with a small team responsible for political engagement, monitoring, external communications, reputation management and events across both the UK and the EU teams.
Whitehouse has clients across the health, human rights, media, nutrition and education sectors. The new Associate Consultant would thrive in a fast-moving entrepreneurial atmosphere, have a strong work ethic, and a proven interest in politics and public affairs in the EU and the UK.
Whitehouse operates a hybrid working policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering client PA activity to deadlines and reporting back to colleagues.
- Production of materials including monitoring reports, briefings, stakeholder lists, speeches and presentations.
- Researching position papers, consultation responses, and briefings that advocate for meaningful change in areas including food, public health, environmental sustainability and digital in both the UK and the EU.
- Policy research on key areas
- Draft communications with clients, parliamentarians, officials, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Organizing, promoting and attending events representing the company and its clients.
- Supporting the wider team in securing new business for the agency, including undertaking tasks related to the preparation of proposals and pitches.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in public affairs or politics – agency, in-house or parliament
- Understanding of the UK and EU political and policy landscape
- Excellent writing skills and experience in writing articles, blogs, press releases, reports and presentations.
- Ability to understand and absorb complex and nuanced pieces of information and policy and translate them into language suitable for different target audience.
- The ability to work and thrive as part of a small and dedicated team as well as without
supervision. - Well organised and able to manage multiple priorities and varying pressures to meet measurable targets and strict deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate with a range of decision makers.
