Where’s the NHS going? Whitehouse reports

This week, the Health and Care Bill Committee have resumed their scrutiny of the Health and Care Bill with Committee Stage expected to conclude in a matter of weeks on 2nd November. In Tuesday’s sitting of the Committee, a number of Government amendments were agreed to, including Amendment 117 which makes minor changes to clause 79 so that information standards may be set for public bodies that exercise functions in connection with the provision of any health care in England, and not simply NHS services.

Meanwhile, on the day NHS Wales published its NHS Health and Social Care Winter Plan, NHS Chief Executive, Andrew Goodall, warned that the dual threat of influenza and Covid-19 will make this winter “one of the hardest we have ever faced”.

To digest the events of the last fortnight and look ahead to what is coming up on health policy and NHS reform, the team at Whitehouse present their latest report. This week’s report can be found here.
