Where’s the NHS going? Whitehouse reports

Despite Parliament being in recess, it remains a busy time for those interested in Health and Social Care Policy. The Public Bill Committee on the Health and Care Bill are hearing from stakeholders on their views of the Bill, before it sits on 7 September.

In the past two weeks, the replacement for Lord Stevens as Chief Executive of NHS England has been announced, with Amanda Pritchard being the first woman in the health service’s history to hold the post, which she will take up on Sunday August 1. We have also seen a controversial decision to give NHS staff in England a 3% pay rise backdated to April, which has been described as a slap in the face from the government.

The team at Whitehouse present their latest report on NHS reform, which takes a look back at developments relating to the health service and looks ahead to what is coming up on the subject. This week’s report can be found here.
