The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Media, run by the Whitehouse Consultancy, has launched its new, official website!
We have created this website a platform for discussion and debate on matters of interest to the media industry, and we invite those involved in the media industry to contribute. This can be a blog piece that is a length of your choosing, on a subject relevant to media policy, and bylined by a senior director of your organisation.
Seetha Kumar, the CEO of our member ScreenSkills, has made the case for reforms to the apprenticeship levy to unleash the creative talent of the UK on the Media APPG website. As well as this, Rosie Cooper MP, chair of the APPG for Media, has written an introductory blog.
As well as a platform for discussion, this website will also keep visitors informed about the Group’s activity, events, and other details. The content of this website will inform a regular e-newsletter going to all sponsors, parliamentarians and key civil servants, so contributing to the blog is a good way of raising important issues or engaging in important debates in front of those making the decisions.
The All-Party Parliamentary Media Group is a forum for discussion within Parliament on public policy as it affects the media sector, formed in 1992. Its membership is drawn from all political parties and both Houses of Parliament. It meets regularly to receive an address and have a short discussion with key players from the media industry, its regulatory agencies, and government ministers. It is an impartial, efficiently-run organisation, which provides a useful interface between Parliament, the industry and other key stakeholders.
