Pulse Magazine has reported that NHS England has rejected one in four requests to shrink GP catchment areas since April last year, with figures showing increases in such requests. 26 have been made since April this year, compared to 30 for the whole of last year. 15 of those requests have already been rejected, with 10 still pending and 6 withdrawn. The increase in such requests is seen as further evidence that General Practice is overstretched, as well as serving to raise more questions over Government plans to open practice boundaries from next year.
