The Independent reports that proposals by Healthย Secretary Jeremy Hunt will see NHS hospitals, GP surgeries, private hospitals and care homes displaying their CQC inspection ratingsย in aย โconspicuous placeโ, in a move thatย aims to better inform patients on the quality of services they are receiving.
Concerns have been raised, however, that ratings (Outstanding, Good, Requires Improvement or Inadequate) provide onlyย an overall score and do not reflect the quality of individual services, something that could end up misleading patients.
The proposals are currently under consultation. Interested parties can submit their views until 13th October 2014.
