Boris Johnson's bid for Parliament

Boris Johnson called for talks with the Uxbridge Conservative association once the incumbent MP, Sir John Randall, announced he would be standing down a month ago, the Sun reports. The mayor announced yesterday that he will that he will run for parliament in 2015, ending years of speculation. Johnson said he would serve as an MP at the same time as completing his second term as London mayor, something he had previously promised not to do.

Meanwhile, the Telegraph reports Johnson is being lined up to become Business Secretary within a year of the General Election if the Conservatives win in 2015.
