Remploy to look for joint venture investors

Employment Minister Esther McVey has today issued a Written Ministerial Statement ,announcing the launch of a commercial process for Remploy Employment Services to find an investor or partner to participate in the further growth and development of the company.

The commercial process will be formally launched next week and aims at the creation of a joint venture, with employees also holding an interest in the company, although the exact form of the venture will be decided after negotiations. The new company will see the continuing delivery of the Work Choice programme and other Departmental contracts and agreements. The end goal of the commercial process is to ensure that Remploy becomes an independent sustainable business which continues to support disabled people in finding and remaining in employment.
