National Union of Teachers withdraws strike action

The BBC has reported that the National Union of Teachers (NUT) has withdrawn its threat of strike action in England and Wales in June, saying the decision would “allow time to see if progress is possible” in talks with the Government over claims of an excessive workload for teachers and cuts to pensions. Michael Gove is set to attend the next meeting, but the union warned that if there is no progress from talks there could still be strike action on 10th July.
