Ofqual has claimed that schools are playing the exams system by lodging โtacticalโ appeals against results in a bid to boost grades. The qualifications regulator says teachers are requesting re-marks in GCSEs and A-Levels with results just below key grade boundaries, on the grounds that โitโs worth appealing because it is a one-way betโ.
