Ofqual claims schools lodging "tactical" appeals

Ofqual has claimed that schools are playing the exams system by lodging “tactical” appeals against results in a bid to boost grades. The qualifications regulator says teachers are requesting re-marks in GCSEs and A-Levels with results just below key grade boundaries, on the grounds that “it’s worth appealing because it is a one-way bet”.
