The Labour Party will next week set out its detailed proposals for public service reform, according to The Guardian. Ed Miliband will use a speech to describe what Labourโs approach to public services will be should they win the next election, backed up by a pamphlet authored by Shadow Health Minister Liz Kendall, which is to suggest that the best way to reform public services is to stop the โsalami slicingโ of public services and โto give councils and other regional public sector bodies three to five year budgetsโ.
Pete from PSI:ย Whilst Labour has already announced its plans for employment programmes for the long term unemployed through a โJobs Guaranteeโ and ways in which it will cater for an aging population through integrated โwhole person careโ, next week will see a real step towards shaping what will be a key battleground in the 2015 general election.
