CQC warns private ambulance service about closure

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has found that NSL Kent employed people without making necessary legal checks in a surprise visit in November 2013. The CQC’s report revealed criminal background checks, known as Disclosure and Barring Service certificates, were missing for every employee record examined by officers. The CQC has issued the company with enforcement notices to make necessary changes in requirements relating to workers, and assessing and monitoring the quality of service provision.
