A new report has found that more than a quarter of European employers are struggling to fill vacancies at the same time as young people face high levels of unemployment. The report from management consulting firm McKinsey warns of a mismatch between young peopleโs skills and the needs of employers. The report accuses education providers of being โover-optimisticโ about work skills. The UK comes out relatively well with only 18% of employers saying that lack of skills among first jobbers is harming their business. ย In contrast the survey found that in Greece and Italy employers are much more concerned about the skills of young people looking for their first job.
