Latest data has shown that unemployment among ethnic minority groups has risen over the past two years. Whilst unemployment among this demographic has always been higher than the UK average, figures for 2012 and 2013 show that unemployment among ethnic minority groups rose from 13% to 14%, whilst for white ethnic groups it fell from 8% to 7%.
The rise was particularly noticeable among black and Pakistani/Bangladeshi ethnic groups, where unemployment rose from 16% to 17% and 17% to 19% respectively.
