Food, Nutrition and Public health

Food and nutrition is a fast-changing and developing sector, covered by an equally fluid and complex regulatory and policy framework with a direct impact on industry and consumers. Sustainability targets and public health issues such as obesity, smoking and alcohol consumption remain priorities for many governments, along with an increasingly urgent question of what the regulatory landscape will look like in the UK now that it has left the EU – which currently makes the majority of legislation in this area.

Whitehouse has decades of experience in the mainstream and specialist food sectors. We have run successful campaigns on major legislative and regulatory dossiers discussed within the European institutions, its member states and the UK and ensured our clients continually contribute to high-profile public health debates at the EU and national levels, including obesity and the ‘sugar tax.’
