Whitehouse Communications, newly re-branded from The Whitehouse Consultancy, has appointed Dr Andy Tarrant as their Director of EU Affairs and Public Policy. This senior appointment is the latest in the political communications agency’s continual staff growth, following an 80% increase during the last year alone.
Andy joins the Whitehouse team following his role as the Head of Strategic Communications and Head of Policy and Government Relations at B&CE, provider of the People’s Pension. Andy brings a wealth of experience in European politics, having worked as a senior parliamentary advisor to the shadow Europe minister, consulted on Brexit for the Tony Blair Institute as well as running the Brussels office of a pan-European trade association.
Having first qualified as a solicitor in competition law, Andy also brings media experience from the Labour Party and regulatory expertise from his time as Head of Global Government and Regulatory Affairs for Global Services at BT.
At Whitehouse Communications, Andy will be responsible for the strategic direction of accounts on both sides of the Channel looking to ensure EU policies and regulations allow businesses to flourish, protect consumers and support social causes.

Andy’s appointment arises from Whitehouse Communications’ boom in demand from businesses, charities and associations in the UK and Europe looking to use their expertise to influence policies for the better after both Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic – during the lockdown period alone in 2020 Whitehouse experienced a doubling in new business enquiries, reflecting a desire for businesses and individuals proactively to shape the future of their sectors.
Andy will be based at Whitehouse’s Brussels office.
