The Whitehouse Consultancy, which provides the secretariat to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Hong Kong, hosted a webinar with Lord Patten of Barnes, the 28th and last Governor of Hong Kong.
Members of both Houses attended what was an extremely insightful briefing on the future of Hong Kong by Lord Patten, followed by a Q&A session.
Lord Patten called for the British government to work with the EU and the rest of the international community to develop a new approach towards imposing sanctions on the authorities on Hong Kong, citing a complete lack of faith in the Chinese authorities.
Lord Patten made the statement in a special event organised by grassroots campaign Stand with Hong Kong and the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Hong Kong.
