Chris Patten: Britain must stand up to China, the bully

Webinar with former Hong Kong Governor, Lord Patten, attended by almost 100 MPs/Peers

The Whitehouse Consultancy, which provides the secretariat to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Hong Kong, hosted a webinar with Lord Patten of Barnes, the 28th and last Governor of Hong Kong. Almost 100 Members of both Houses attended what was an extremely insightful briefing on the future of Hong Kong by Lord Patten, followed by a Q&A session.

The webinar was Chaired by the APPG’s co-chairs, Green Party Peer Baroness Natalie Bennett and Liberal Democrat Chief Whip Alistair Carmichael MP. Patten explained to Members that the future rule of law is significant, and the UK must stand up to China’s bullying in order to protect Hong Kong’s identity.
