LIB DEMS MULL NATIONAL INSURANCE CUT

The Liberal Democrats are considering raising the threshold at which workers start paying national insurance. According to (£) The Times, the party’s manifesto will tout the measure as the next step in its bid to reduce the tax burden on low and middle earners, but only as resources allow. Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander told the paper that a top Liberal Democrat priority would be raising the income tax threshold to £12,500.
