Birmingham children's services "inadequate", Ofsted finds

An Ofsted inspection has found that Birmingham City Council’s children’s services department is failing the ‘most vulnerable’ children within the city, Public Procurement Insider reports. The inspection found that the Local Safeguarding Children Board lacks both effective arrangements and skills to fulfil its duties. Ofsted cited corporate and political failures as having a negative impact on service provision, while adding that inadequate strategic partnership arrangements have undermined a range of initiatives to improve services.”
